Virginia Red Wines SCORE BIG

In the February 2010 issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, which is nationally and internationally distributed, several Virginia red wines were given excellent ratings. In fact, the 87 rating for three of these wines is the highest ever awarded to Virginia red wines (the highest rating for any Virginia wine was an 89 many years ago for Linden's late harvest vidal).

Here are these recent ratings, on a scale of 0 - 100, in alphabetical order within a rating range:

Kluge Estate 2005 New World Red Blend (87 points)

Three Fox Vineyards 2007 Alouette Cabernet Franc (87 points )

Veramar Vineyards 2007 Cabernet Franc (87 points)

Del Fosse 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (86 points)

Cooper Vineyards 2007 Cabernet Franc (85 points)

Veramar Vineyards NV Rooster Red Bordeaux Blend (83 points)

[I should also note that Cooper Vineyards 2008 Viognier was rated at 86 points but the major story here is so many Virginia REDs doing so well.]

For additional interest, we have been informed that three more of our red wines will appear with high ratings in the May issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine. These are:
Three Fox Vineyards 2007 Piemontese Nebbiolo (85 points)
Three Fox Vineyards 2007 Signor Sangiovese Reserve (85 points)
Three Fox Vineyards 2007 Volpe Sangiovese (84 points)
I'm sure you will agree that all of the above noted vineyards getting such great ratings on a national and international level are helping spread the word about the ever increasing quality of Virginia reds.
